HOW IT WORKS

Getting Started with Church Tags

In recent years, there has been a significant rise in the use of NFC (Near Field Communication) technology in churches. This technology is helping religious institutions modernise the way they interact with their congregations, making engagement, donations, and information sharing more seamless than ever before.

Why Use NFC in Churches?

NFC technology offers several benefits for churches, making it easier for congregations to interact and engage seamlessly. One of the key advantages is the ability to encourage donations. As mobile payments become increasingly popular, using NFC enables quick, secure, and hassle-free transactions, allowing worshippers to contribute effortlessly.

NFC tags also provide an innovative way to enhance community engagement by providing churchgoers with instant access to information, welcome new visitors, highlight upcoming events and increase community connections with just a simple tap of a phone. Unlike QR codes that require messing about with cameras and scanning or verbal instructions that may disrupt the service, NFC tags operate silently and require no additional apps, ensuring a smooth and unobtrusive experience for users.

Attaching NFC Tags to the Back of Chairs

One of the most practical and unobtrusive ways to integrate NFC technology is by placing NFC tags on the back of chairs. Visitors can simply tap their phones to access a variety of church-related content, including sermon notes, announcements, or details about upcoming events. This eliminates the need for printed materials and ensures that congregants always have up-to-date information at their fingertips. Seritag's Flex Church NFC Tags are ideally suited for adhesive applications particularly on the back of fabric chairs. The flexibility also sticks well to chairs with a slight curve.

Attaching NFC Tags to the End of Pews

For churches with traditional pew seating, NFC tags can be attached to the ends of pews to serve as a convenient touchpoint for attendees. A quick tap allows congregants to donate to the church securely and effortlessly, browse church programs, or learn about volunteer opportunities. This implementation is particularly useful for first-time visitors who may need additional guidance on church activities and donation options. Seritag's Church NFC Tag is a more durable option. You can choose a strap for semi-permanent use, or opt for adhesive and screws for a more permanent installation. It is suitable for both reusable and permanent applications.

Embedding NFC in Collection Baskets or Bags

Offering an alternative to traditional cash donations, churches can embed NFC tags into collection baskets or bags. Instead of passing around envelopes or handling physical money, people can contribute digitally with a simple tap of their smartphone. This not only simplifies the donation process but also aligns with the growing trend of cashless transactions, making it easier for attendees to support the church without carrying cash. We have a huge range of products that can be integrated into collection baskets from labels to disc tags.

Placing NFC Tags in Posters

Churches often use posters to promote events and outreach programs, but NFC technology takes these materials to the next level. By embedding NFC tags in posters placed in high-traffic areas such as church entrances, churches can offer instant access to event details, online sign-ups, or additional resources.

Including NFC-Enabled Leaflets and Newsletters

Church bulletins, newsletters, and other printed materials can be enhanced with NFC technology to provide an interactive experience. By embedding NFC tags in these materials, churches can link congregants to digital content such as sermon recordings, worship music playlists or Bible study guides. This adds value to traditional printed communications and encourages deeper engagement beyond the church walls.

We can encode the tags so they will be ready to use as soon as you receive them. Alternatively you can download the Seritag Encoder App for free on the App Store or Play Store and encode the tags yourself. We always recommend locking the tags if they’re going in a public space to prevent anyone else from changing the data on the tags.

What to link to

NFC technology offers several key benefits for churches. One major advantage is its ability to connect with younger generations. Since most people, especially younger churchgoers, carry smartphones, NFC technology aligns with their digital habits, providing a seamless way to interact with church resources, access information, and participate in activities.

Another benefit is dynamic data management. Instead of constantly printing and reprinting materials, churches can update digital content remotely, saving on printing costs and reducing waste. This ensures that congregants always have access to the latest information without the hassle of distributing new materials.

Additionally, NFC technology provides centralized control, allowing churches to manage all NFC tags from a single account, regardless of their physical location. This makes it easier to oversee digital interactions, track engagement, and ensure that information remains accurate and up to date across various touchpoints within the church.
