These two chips, the ICODE SLIX and the NTAG424 are from different NFC chip families. The ICODE SLIX, manufactured by NXP belonging to the ICODE family, and the NTAG424, also manufactured by NXP.
The ICODE SLIX is part of NXP's ICODE family of chips. The ICODE series is older than NXP's NTAG series and has a number of significant differences - particularly a longer 8 byte UID and a longer memory retention specification of 50 years.
The authentication NTAG424 DNA chip was launched in 2019 as a replacement for the first authentication NTAG chip, the NTAG413. Hosting a wealth of security features this second generation frictionless authentication chip is now the standard for anti-counterfeit, phygital (physical to digital) and web3 based projects.
Both these chips have a strong ScanStrength and will work very well with mobile phones.
