The NTAG210 chip was launched in 2013 alongside the NTAG213, NTAG212, NTAG215 and NTAG216. The NTAG210 has a limited amount of memory at 40 bytes and while it has some more features than the original NTAG203 chip, it's not as full featured as the NTAG213, NTAG215 or NTAG216. However, there were also a number of technical changes on the NTAG210 over the first generation NTAG203 including a thinner 75µm chip format and an increase in expected data retention to 10 years. Importantly, NXP also added an originality signature feature which helped detect counterfeit NTAG series chips.
Not to be confused with the NTAG210µ which was released a couple of years later. In reality, Seritag would regard the NTAG210 as a slightly odd choice of chip. It's more expensive than the simple NTAG210µ, but very few users would ever require the features such as the password protection. If you want a cheap, high ScanStrength chip, Seritag recommend the NTAG210µ rather than this NTAG210.
