This is dependent on a number of factors.
- The chip that is used in the tag. For example NTAG213 chips have a specified lifespan of 10 years where as NTAG424 chips have a specified 50 year life span.
- The material of the tag, for example does it have UV resistance, is it a tough enough plastic for your use case ?
- The area that the tags are located indoor/ outdoor ?
- The materials that the tags are exposed to on a day to day - for example strong chemicals, high heat, pressure washer, etc ?
The use case of the tags along with the tag chosen together will determine the longevity of the tags. We strongly recommend talking to one of our experts to find the right tag for your project.
