Good question and one that we get often. In short there's two types of laundry tags :
The '
garment spec' tags which are strengthened labels. Designed to take 100 domestic wash cycles. These are cost effective tags which are ideal for making smart clothing. Flexible thin and easy to place behind a patch.
Then you have the old style '
laundry tags'. These are made from rigid plastics typically PPS. They are designed to withstand industrial wash cycles and are very strong very durable and will last almost certainly longer than any fabric item they may be installed in.
Therefore in terms of the physical tag the answer is simple - laundry tags.
However you do also want to consider the chip itself. The standard NTAG213 chips have a lifespan of 10 years. This is likely to be longer than the life of most clothing items so a 'standard' choice. However if 10 years isn't enough then you might want to consider using ICODE chips or NTAG424 either as an authentication chip or
