Generally, NFC tags are very small and contain a very limited amount of aluminium and PET plastic. The housing material can be made of wood and bamboo.
It is possible to supply NFC labels which do not contain the usual PET plastic and are made using paper instead. These still contain metal antennas but the material holding it together is not plastic. In some use cases- such as packaging - this might be important to the user.
At Seritag we consider that the best approach to being eco-friendly is to use good quality tags that last. The eco cost of replacing a tag will always be higher than making an slightly eco-friendly tag from materials that may not last.
