30mm PPS On-Metal Disc
A durable 30mm disc / token hard NFC tag with central hole. Manufactured in PPS plastic for long term use in outdoor and indoor high use environments. Supplied with fixed 3M adhesive backing with barrier material for on-metal use.
NXP NTAG213 chip for reliability.
Measuring 3.5mm thick with a 5mm central hole. These tags can be screw fixed or attached with the supplied attached adhesive. Suitable for use on both metal and non-metal surfaces.
This is a very good tag and a stronger alternative to the 30mm ABS disc tag. IP66 rated for protection against high pressure water jets and dust ingress. Note that the ferrite barrier material which allows this tag to work on metal is not integrated into the tag. It's a strong, tough tag and will work well indoors and in sheltered outdoor locations but the exposed ferrite is not recommend for use in longer term outdoor exposed use. We recommend either the Warehouse Tag or Industrial Slim tags for exposed outdoor use.
Normal NFC tags do not work when placed directly onto metal surfaces. Therefore, when using NFC tags on metal you either need to create a gap of at least 0.5 cm between the tag and the metal or you can use a special tag - called an 'on-metal' tag - which has an additional ferrite barrier material between the NFC tag and the adhesive.
On-metal tags will work on both metal and non-metal surfaces. However, on-metal tag scan distances always tend to be slightly less than standard NFC tags so unless you need tags that will (or might) go on metal, we would strongly recommend that you go with standard tags.
