These two chips, the NTAG216 and the ICODE SLIX are from different NFC chip families. The NTAG216, manufactured by NXP belonging to the NTAG family, and the ICODE SLIX, also manufactured by NXP.
The NTAG216 has the largest memory capacity of the NTAG21x range. It's typically used in business cards and similar vCard storage applications. With a better availability than the smaller memory NTAG215 chip, it's essentially the only option if you need more memory than the NTAG213. It's not a cheap chip and prices for NTAG216 tags carry a heavy premium. Seritag strongly recommend that NFC tags shouldn't be used to store data but contain only the link to data. In which case, using a large memory chip such as the NTAG216 isn't always a good idea in the first place. However, if your application absolutely requires it, this chip is an option.
The ICODE SLIX is part of NXP's ICODE family of chips. The ICODE series is older than NXP's NTAG series and has a number of significant differences - particularly a longer 8 byte UID and a longer memory retention specification of 50 years.
Both these chips have a strong ScanStrength and will work very well with mobile phones.
