A premium 29mm on-metal tag constructed with a reverse structure. Unlike normal NFC tags which can be scanned from either side, on-metal tags (NFC tags that can work directly on metal) have a barrier material which must be between the antenna of the tag and the metal surface. A normal on-metal NFC tag is designed to be stuck onto the metal and scanned from the front. These reverse on-metal tags are designed to be stuck to the back of an object (label, poster, table marker, etc) which is then placed onto the metal item. Therefore, the adhesive is facing upwards and the barrier material is at the back. This tag will work on both metal and non-metal surfaces.
Designed with the popular NTAG213 microchip. Supplied on reels in larger quantities or strips of 5 in smaller orders. These tags are available with our Seritag encoding or UID scan services. However, because of the surface, we cannot ID print onto the tags.
These are high quality items with a specially tuned antenna and high performance ferrite barrier material. For this type of product, the scanstrength is exceptionally good. However, like all on-metal tags, the performance is lower than normal tags and we advise testing to make sure they fit your requirements.
Normal NFC tags do not work when placed directly onto metal surfaces. Therefore, when using NFC tags on metal you either need to create a gap of at least 0.5 cm between the tag and the metal or you can use a special tag - called an 'on-metal' tag - which has an additional ferrite barrier material between the NFC tag and the adhesive.
On-metal tags will work on both metal and non-metal surfaces. However, on-metal tag scan distances always tend to be slightly less than standard NFC tags so unless you need tags that will (or might) go on metal, we would strongly recommend that you go with standard tags.
