NFC stands for Near Field Communication. It's the term used to describe the whole contactless communication technology.

NDEF is a term defined by the NFC Forum the industry body responsible for setting the standards by which NFC works. Is a term used to specify the way that data is stored in the memory of an NFC chip. The data is stored in a way that is universally recognised across all NFC readers.
