Ixkio, our powerful NFC tag management platform, has launched the beta release of a new AI-powered NFC feature, designed to transform NFC tag embedded products into fully interactive digital touchpoints.

By combining NFC scanning with conversational AI, the new capability allows brands to deliver product-specific information instantly - simply by tapping a phone to a tag. From setup instructions to serial numbers and aftercare guidance, users can now get accurate answers in seconds, directly from the product itself.

From Simple Scans to Smart Conversations

Traditionally, NFC tags have been used to trigger basic actions such as opening a webpage. Ixkio’s new AI feature goes further, enabling consumers to ask questions and receive contextual responses based on the exact product they have scanned.

This creates a seamless experience where product support, instructions, and brand content can be delivered through a natural AI chat interface - without requiring an app, customer service contact, or manual searching.

Built on Ixkio’s Flexible Tag Hierarchy

The Ixkio platform is built around a powerful, multi-level tag hierarchy, allowing information to be stored and managed at different levels depending on how broadly it applies.

With Ixkio AI, brands can now upload information into the platform and have it delivered intelligently through Direct Response. The structure enables content to be assigned across multiple layers, including:

  • Folders and Tag Groups for high-level brand and collection information
  • Batches for product run data and more detailed product-level content
  • Individual Tags for item-specific details such as unique identifiers and serial numbers

This hierarchy allows brands to scale connected product experiences easily - from a single item to an entire product range - while keeping information accurate and consistent.

Practical, Product-Specific Information — Instantly Accessible

Once an NFC tag is scanned, users can immediately interact with AI chat to access product guidance and data. Common use cases include:

  • care and washing instructions for garments
  • setup guidance for connected or Bluetooth-enabled products
  • retrieving unique serial numbers and tag-level details
  • understanding key product features and specifications

The result is an experience where the product becomes its own support channel - available instantly at the moment it’s needed.

Integrated Authentication for Reliable Results

Because Ixkio AI is embedded directly within the Ixkio ecosystem, it integrates fully with Ixkio authentication.

Beta Running Until June 2026

The beta programme will run until June 2026, with full release expected to follow as an additional module for Flex and Flex Pro customers.
