There are numerous ways to attach an NFC tag to a piece of clothing. This would depend on the use case, manufacturing considerations and design requirements.
One method to attach NFC to a piece of clothing would be using Iron-on tags. These can be attached to clothing by activating the adhesive backing through heat. This is a simple and easy way to attach NFC to a garment or clothing product. For further detail please see our 29mm Garment iron-on tag.
A second method would be to use sew-on tags, these are tags that allow for the products to be directly sown on to the piece of clothing. For example a button tag allows nfc to be directly integrated on to shirts.
A third use would be to encapsulate the tag these can be placed in a small pocket or sew it into the lining of the clothing. For example an NFC behind a woven on patch.
All garment tags will be able to withstand domestic wash and dry cycles. Some NFC garment products are much more durable than others, for example those encapsulated in a protective material compared to garment labels.
