The best NFC tag depends upon your use case. For standard use cases such as URLs, text or other small amounts of data NTAG213 is a popular choice of tag. If you require larger data storage capacity the NTAG215 and NTAG216 would be a preferred option.

If you are looking for authentication and anti-counterfeit tags then the NTAG424 is the tag you should be using.

Alternatively the ICODE Slix is a tag which can store large quantities of data and scans incredibly well in varied enviroments.

The most popular NFC tags are:

NTAG213 useful simple applications such as sharing contact information URL's and basic marketing. This can hold 144 bytes of memory.

NTAG215 useful for moderate data storage standard functions and gaming. These can store 540 bytes data.

NTAG216 is useful for larger storage such as loyalty programs and asset tracking. These can store 888 bytes of data.

NTAG424 useful for secure authentication anti-counterfeiting and premium production protection using encryption. This holds 4 KB of memory.

ICODE Slix is useful for storage large amounts of data and ensuring efficient scanning.
