In a library, NFC tags are generally better than UHF tags.

NFC pros outweigh UHF in terms of shorter scan distance while checking out books and tracking. Ease of use as its supported by most smartphones. They are more cost efficient, being cheaper and more compact making them suitable for small objects such as books. As well as offering security with features such as password protection.

While UHF tags are better for large-scale management since they can read multiple tags at once over longer distances, they are much more expensive and complex.
