Can my ipad read NFC tags ?

I am trying to read an nfc tag that i encoded with my iphone but there's no response. Is that normal ?

No. Unfortunately Apple iPads do not have the ability to scan NFC tags.

It's possible to purchase bluetooth readers (try digital-logic) which will act as remote NFC reading devices and then communicate with the iPad. However, there's no native (built-in) software support so you would either need to build your own software or find an app that can handle the device connection.
