Yes! All NFC tags can be made read only. This process is called locking. This can be done either by specialist encoders or through NFC read and write apps such as NFC tools/Tasker (on Android) or the Seritag App (launching soon!)
You can lock an NFC tag using most of the NFC apps on any modern smartphone. Most apps will have an option to look tags if you dig around a bit. Each type of NFC Chip communicates differently but our Seritag Encoder App locks NTAG chips by changing certain values in the Chips memory. This is a fairly technical process so if you want me details just get in touch and we'll be happy to go into more detail.
