I had an iPhone with iOS 13, and now has upgraded to the iPhone 13 Pro, with iOS 15.5 and now can't scan NFC tags. Is anyone else having this issue?!

Having the same problem. I have a few homekit tags and a contact card which both were working just fine until a recent upgrade. tags all scan through an nfc app but the old way of just holding the phone over the tag really struggles. it does scan but you have to almost touch ?
Is this a bug / update or what ?

I have the same issue, it works from 3" away using "NFC Tools" app, but I pretty much have to rub the phone on top of the tag multiple times for it to register without an app.

The problem does seem to revolve specifically around the iPhone 13 Pro. We have customers on the iPhone 13 Pro Max that aren't experiencing the problem. If we can find a solution (other than scanning from an app), then we will post it here.

The iOS software increases the power when NFC tags are scanned from an app. This has more or less always been the case. This 'new' issue where the power for background tag scanning - scanning without an app - is something else and something new.
