Garment Tag Pack

  • Variety of chips, types and sizes
  • Includes sample iron-on patch to test with
A starter pack containing the most popular garment/clothing tags for testing and development. Contains both 'garment spec' labels and the more traditional hard disc PPS laundry tags.

To aid with your testing and development, we've also included a sample iron-on patch (without NFC tag) to test iron-on the tags as required. See the notes here on how to use the iron-on patches !

The pack contains samples of NTAG213, NTAG424 and ICODE SLIX NFC chips. All of the tags are pre-encoded to their product pages so they will work 'out the box' but are left unencoded so you can change the data and experiment as required.

Encoding NFC Tags

You can encode your tags with a smartphone and it's quick and easy.

1. Download the NFC tools app - it's free for both iPhone and Android users
2. Open the app and tap 'Write', then add a record
3. Tap 'Custom URL/URI', and then copy and paste your URL into the given text box.
4. Tap OK, and then tap 'Write'
5. Hold your phone over the tag, and your tag will encode. That's it !

For more information, have a look at our How to encode tags with an iPhone and How to encode tags with an Android phone pages.

Using the Sample Iron-on Garment Patch

The iron-on sample patch is designed to help you test and develop. The patch does not contain an NFC tag. This is how you use it :

  1. Apply a Garment Spec tag to the centre of the back of the iron-on patch
  2. Place the iron-on patch onto your garment
  3. Using a iron set at 'cotton' gently press the iron-on patch to the garment just until the patch holds
  4. Turn the garment inside out and now iron with some pressure from the back to the patch for 10-15 seconds

This should fix the iron-on patch in place.

Note that iron-on garment patches (and irons, clothing, etc) vary. We recommend testing first at low heat for short periods particularly on non-cotton fabrics.

This patch is for testing and development purposes only. We don't recommend using this patch in a final product !
